Ah, July. The month when the sun shines a little brighter, you overlook the days (technically) getting shorter and the heat...well, let's say it's not messing around. But fear not, dear readers, for your favorite bakery is here to save the day with our guide to surviving the July heat wave. Sunday Farmer’s Market
Before we dive into July, this is just a quick reminder that the Highlands Farmer’s Market runs on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you're at the Market, please stop by and see us! And if you're coming to Happy Bakeshop to pick up and order, just be mindful of street closures and parking.
We highly recommend this Farmer's Market, but that might be because we're partial to our neighbors and neighborhood - the best in Denver!
4th of July
Good news: we will be open on over the 4th of July holiday – CLOSING AT 3:00PM ON JULY 4TH. We will have on-theme cut sugar cookies and more red, white and blue sprinkles than you can even imagine, staring on July 3. This year, we will NOT have ready-made pies in the bakery, so PLACE YOUR ORDER FOR PIES NOW. They'll be ready for pickup before the first hot dog hits the grill (give us about three days' notice).
Summer Flavors!
We've been serving summer in cupcake form for about a month now. Have you tried all the summer flavors? If not, don’t wait! We’ve some sweet and refreshing treats on the menu this summer! We’ve been hearing really good buzz about the Cherry Limeade, Caramel Kettle Corn, Strawberry Banana, Mango Pineapple, and Cotton Candy. But we think they're all pretty great.
Summer DIY Kits
Too hot to turn on your oven and bake? We know the feeling. Call us, and let us make you some fun Summer DIY Kits. Planning for Back to School
Denver Schools will start back up on August 19, so it's time to start thinking about 'back to school.' And while you’re making lists for school supplies and clothes, we suggest starting the year with a little treat for your students’ new classrooms. We'd happily make something in your school colors or logo for a fun first-day treat. Or, cement your star students’ place as teacher’s pet with something special for teach! It never hurts to treat your teacher!

Yes, it's already on the horizon. We'll start the Fall Flavor Battle in August, so in preparation, we suggest you get your fill of summer flavor (see above) and think about what fall flavors might tickle your fancy. Don't worry; we still have about 80 days until it is actually fall.
